This raw silk yarn is hand-spun from the cocoon and then plied and hand-dyed. It is strikingly distinctive and reflects light beautifully. Great for lacy shawls. Work double or triple for a sturdier fabric.
Shaman is has a rustic and unique character. It is fingering weight made from 4 plies of hand-spun silk. Right from the cocoon. Yes, there are some knots and irregularities, but I just knit right over them and find the yarn has enough character that these idiosyncrasies do not detract from the beauty of the knitted fabric. I like the reminder that it is actually made by human beings!
